Indian Music by Ricky Romain

Ricky Romain is a sitar player who plays Indian Classical Music and is based in the South West of England. Ricky has performed at festivals, concert halls, art centres and weddings throughout the UK.

He has also been involved in a wide variety of collaborations and recordings with Classical Indian musicians and has worked with musicians from other musical and artistic genres including Samswara (sitar and tabla duo) Jazz, Rock, Folk, World and Western Classical Music, Dance, and Movement.

Ricky has also been involved in a number of school and community arts projects (www.rickyromain.com) using Indian Folk and Classical music as a focus for interdisciplinary study. For the last ten years he has been an associate lecturer in Indian classical music at the University of Plymouth.

Goren Festival Goren Farm, Stockland, Honiton, Devon, EX14 9EN I am playing on the main stage from 3-4pm

‘Around the World in 8 Days’ to be performed at the BIC on the 12th July, 2022. This showcase event will bring together 250+ students of all abilities, from numerous schools, to perform together as an orchestra in the 2100 capacity venue. They will be joined on the night by several guest musicians, I will be playing sitar and Udit Pankhania playing tabla bringing to the stage instrumentation and rhythms from across the globe.
